First, I think that you should dial down on the adds. They are very annoying. You should possibly add more, or maybe switch something up.

Or, maybe you get to be the boss every once in a while. Let us have a few special matches where we have extra ink and more space to draw and create our jousting vehicles.

The real test of this game is the similarity of execution and, in most respects, the Lynx version comes out with flying colors. The screen size makes it difficult to judge encounters accurately, however, detracting from a good game.

Atari has done a remarkable hob of recreating the feel of the original arcade title and even though you are doing the same thing level after level, the game does stay challenging as it gets more difficult to clear the levels as you progress farther into the game. A great blast from the past. Joust is one of my old arcade favorites. It is repetitive by nature, but plays really well and building you score through surviving is the key goal. Everything is practically identical even the sound effects!

Other dangers include a pterodactyl who periodically arrives to thin out the ranks of on-screen warriors if things are taking too long, and platforms that disappear under your feet, plunging you into a sea of molten lava. The game includes support for two players, and the 4-color CGA palette does a nice job of conveying all the frantic action and different enemies. This PC version of Joust does the game joust-ice, and brings the elegant fun of simple-to-learn-but-addictive-to-play arcade pioneers to the PC screen.
